With the performative work BOUNDARIES (for your dance) Juliette Blightman and Anthony Silvester examine the borders between inside and outside, private and public, freedom and imprisonment. The performance focuses on social role models as well as the prevailing working and living conditions, with particular attention to those of artists. Blightman’s starting point is Virginia Woolf’s 1929 essay A Room of One’s Own in which the author weaves her own personal experiences and the poetics of her everyday life with urgent feminist objectives. Thus, Woolf’s aspirations and goals are updated in the performance. At the center of the presentation for FF – Live at the Fridericianum is a trampoline, which despite or perhaps because of its everyday nature has become a metaphor for the obstacles, and potentials, of existence.
